Candidate Profile

Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks at one time; self-starter and able to work independently; strong interpersonal communication skills; strong evidence of personal disposition towards life-long learning.

 

Reports to:                                       Principal

Degrees required or preferred:      High School Diploma

 

 

Performance Expectations:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.   1. Inter-office organization skills such as establishing and maintaining proper files and records, and adequate bookkeeping skills
  2. Expertise in computer skills, typing, note taking, and language arts (proper use of English).
  3. It will also be expected of the applicant to learn new computer programs that apply to the day to day operations as a secretary at the Heritage Elementary School.
  4. Efficiently and effectively assist school personnel in conducting school business
  5. Competently communicate business by phone and letter
  6. Keep all office business confidential
  7. Organize records, keep all student records current
  8. Process student paperwork for transferring in and out of district
  9. Assist the supervisor in completing normal routine tasks
  10. See that inter-office mail and postal mail are delivered daily
  11. Manage file room
  12. Maintain office supplies
  13. Assist with special events
  14. Must have strong computer skills, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Google Docs
  15. Ability to learn new programs such as student information system, posting to school website, and programming of LED signage
  16. Other duties as assigned

The individual who holds this position is required to sit, talk and hear, walk, stand and use finger controls. The employee is frequently required to reach, bend and lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Close, distance and peripheral vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required.

 

Salary:                 Commensurate based on experience

 

Contract Type:    10 month
